AUG 11, 2012 LISTEN

As the president's casket was lowered into the grave at the Asomdwe Park on Friday afternoon, several people have now come to terms with the demise of former President John Evans Atta Mills.

Allottey Jacobs, Director of Communications of the NDC in the Central Region, is one of such people.

He has described the burial as life changing adding that, his life was shattered when the casket was lowered. He said it was only at the point of burial that he truly accepted the passing of the president.

Allottey Jacobs admitted on Adom Fm that, he wept like a baby in the full glare of the public; unable to control himself because according him, it was Prof. Mills who made him who he is today.

He described the experience as shocking which he said hit him more than he felt, when his own mother passed.

He said all that while, he had hoped for a miracle to bring back Prof. Mills to life, but that never happened.

For CPP's General Secretary William Doworkpor said he was equally humbled after seeing the casket lowered regretting not having the opportunity to meet him before his death.

Meanwhile Deputy Director of Communications of the opposition NPP, Sammy Awuku said Prof. Mills' final journey to eternity has sent him into deep thoughts lamenting over his inability to congratulate the president personally for winning the 2008 elections.
