Accra, Aug. 10, GNA – The widow of the President John Evans Atta Mills on Friday paid her last respects to her husband at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.

She was accompanied by family members to the Hall, where the president has been lying in state since Wednesday when the three-day State Funeral began.

Earlier in the day, the family of the late president was at the Banquet Hall to perform the final traditional rites.

The body is being conveyed to the Independence Square, coincidentally where he took his oath of office on January 7, 2009, for the funeral service.

He will be buried at the Geese Park, adjacent to the Independence Square, where tens of thousands of people have been waiting since dawn to be part of the final farewell for the fallen leader.
