Yussif Juaso (Ash), August 7, GNA - The Juaso circuit court presided over by Mr Justice S.K. Sarpong Appiah has sentenced a 25-year—old farmer to four years imprisonment in hard labour for burglary.
Kwaku Asiedu broke into the room of a neighbour and made away with GH¢4,500.00, a piece of gold valued at GH¢3,000.00 and a cellular phone.
He was charged with causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry and stealing and pleaded guilty.
Police Chief Inspector Godfred Adoma told the court that the complainant, Kwadwo Tuffour, a trader, and the convict, both live at Banka near Ofoase in the Asante-Akim South District.
On July 18, at about 2100 hours, he locked the door to his room and left for town but found on his return that his room had been broken into and the items stolen.
He made a report to the police and leads provided by an informant led to his arrest. Asiedu confessed to the crime. The gold and GH¢45.00 were later retrieved during a search in his room.
