Kumasi, Aug 3, GNA - Christians have been told to be steadfast in their faith and to refuse to give in to cynicism in the face of global economic difficulties and uncertainties.

Mr George Prah, National President of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship (FGBMF), said in the midst of doubts and volatility of the times, the believer should confidently rely on Jesus Christ.

“This is an extra ordinary period in our global economy; a period of much uncertainty and rapid change. It is a period in which many old foundations and structures are being destroyed, and long held theories and truths suddenly become obsolete and irrelevant," he said.

Mr Prah said this in an address read for him at the opening of the 10th Ashanti Regional Convention of the FGBMF in Kumasi, on Friday. The three-day programme is on the theme: “Hold Fast Onto Your Confidence in God"

He said: "Amidst the seemingly volatility of the times, the believer in Jesus can confidently rely on the one constant that forever remains - Jesus Christ- Who promised to be, and is the same yesterday, today and forever.”

Mr Prah said under no circumstance should they make the mistake of allowing their confidence and trust in God to wane. They should let God's abundant grace and righteousness inspire them to be hopeful about the future.

Mr E.T Ofei, National Director for Ashanti, expressed worry about the lack of zeal and commitment on the part of some members towards the goal of winning souls for Christ and said they needed to do more in that direction.
