Hohoe, Aug. 3, GNA - A magistrate's court in Hohoe has remanded Akpene Mensah and Korsi Ahiadzese, a fetish priest, from Santrokofi in the Hohoe Municipality, for conspiracy and stealing.
Police Detective Chief Inspector Agyemen Badu told the court that when the complainant was returning from Gbi-Godenu, he spotted a taxi carrying a fridge that he suspected belonged to him.
The prosecution said the complainant went to Gbi-Wegbe taxi rank and met the driver of the taxi.
Chief Insp. Badu said the driver told the complainant that the fridge loaded into the vehicle on the orders of Mensah, who said it was due for repairs.
The prosecution said when the complainant went home, he realized that six fridges, chain-saw machine and six mattresses belonging to him were stolen.
Chief Insp. Badu said the driver went and showed complainant the house of Mensah at Santrokofi-Benua, where the fridge was taken, leading to the arrest of the driver.
The court also remanded Francis Mawusi, 35, and Samuel Kwatey, 27, both unemployed, who were on the run in connection with criminal activities in the municipality.
They will reappear in court on August 9.
