Becky Donates To Cape Coast Hospital

THE WIFE of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has donated assorted items worth several thousands of Ghana cedis to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.

The items which included toiletries, fruits and hospital equipment worth GH¢7,500 was presented to the female medical, surgical and gynaecology wards.

Presenting the items on behalf of Mrs. Akufo-Addo, NPP Regional Women's Organizer, Nana Ama Abrefa said the donation formed part of Mrs. Akufo-Addo's social responsibility.

She said the NPP had the welfare of women at heart hence the introduction of various social interventions for them during ex-President Kufuor's regime.

She cited the free maternal care, capitation grant, school feeding program and National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as some of the ex-president's social intervention programmes.

Receiving the items, Margaret Boccorh, Principal Nursing Officer at the hospital thanked Mrs. Akufo-Addo and the NPP for the kind gesture and appealed for more support for the hospital, adding that government alone cannot improve the health sector.

Present at the ceremony was the NPP parliamentary candidate for Cape Coast, George Alfred Kojo Thompson, Cape Coast Constituency Women's Organizer, Hannah Thompson and Cynthia Mensah, a polling station women's organizer.
