GLICO LIFE, one the leading insurance companies in Ghana, has presented a cheque of GH¢40,000 to Parliament as death claim benefits for two deceased Members of Parliament (MPs), Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah and Alhaji Iddi Saani, former MPs for Kwabre West and Wulensi Constituencies.

Presenting the cheque to the Clerk to Parliament Tuesday afternoon, the Managing Director of GLICO, Edward Forkuo Kyei said the claims formed part of the company's group comprehensive plan covering the deceased MPs.

He said the timely payment of the benefits shows GLICO's strong commitment to paying claims as promptly as possible to beneficiaries.

GLICO, Mr. Kyei pointed out, has had the insurance policy with Parliament for about a decade now, stressing the company will ensure the union grows from strength to strength.

He expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, appealing to Ghanaians to take insurance policies to secure the future of their dependants as GLICO would always be there to promptly pay any benefits due.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the bereaved families, Emmanuel Anyimadu, the Clerk to Parliament, thanked GLICO for always making prompt payments to beneficiaries.

He entreated GLICO to maintain the status quo so as to avoid its competitors from taking over from the long-standing policy insurance with Parliament.
