The Car Rental Association of Ghana-CRAG, has organized a day's sensitization workshop for members of the Association especially drivers. CRAG, One of the country's tourism trade Association's is taking no stone unturned in its quest to deliver stellar services by equipping their drivers with the new legislative instrument – (2180)laws for road safety.
Speaking at the workshop, the President of the Association, Mr. Thomas Okyere indicated that, this important exercise has become necessary due to the vital role it plays in the transport and tourism industry.
He added that, this workshop is part of a broad plan to roll out and educate their members countrywide on the new law.
Mr. Okyere also commended Insurance giant Vanguard Insurance for facilitating the workshop.
The Parliament of Ghana a fortnight ago passed the Road Traffic Regulation, 20I2 (Legislative Instrument 2180) to ban the use of mobile phones and other hand-held communication devices while driving. Commercial Motor bike operations, popularly called “Okada” and the use of television or video monitors on dash boards of moving vehicles, were also banned by the new L.I.
