Kumasi, July 19, GNA – Mr Joseph Kwabena Onyinah, Ashanti Regional Director of Education, has invited stakeholders to share in the responsibility of helping to improve the quality of the nation's education.

He said the government, religious bodies, community, teachers, parents and school children should all accept to do their bit to create the right conditions for smooth academic work.

He was speaking at the inauguration of an-11 member Board of Governors for Saint Francis Educational Centre at Bomso in Kumasi, which he chairs.

Mr Onyinah said the crucial role of education in socio-economic progress is not in dispute and that is why more resources should be pumped into its development.

He said the board, he leads, would focus on the improvement of the school's infrastructure, teachers' welfare and academic performance of the students.

Additionally members would make sure that its finances are properly managed.

Mr Onyinah said the vision of the Board is to make the school one of the best and result-oriented in the country.

He encouraged the teachers to show love and passion for the job and do away with negative practices that are likely to affect the performance of the students.

Mr Francis Owusu-Ansah, Director of the School, said the goal of the academic facility is to train disciplined, hard working and God-fearing students who would help to transform the society.

He advised the students to take interest in reading.
