On the 23rd of July,2011, we issued a press release calling on Ama Benyiwa Doe to resign her position as Central Region Minister regarding serious allegations of embezzlement of 70 million Ghana cedis meant for the development of Cape Coast Stadium as well as financial mismanagement at the regional administration. No action or even an investigation has been carried out. Ama Benyiwa Doe is still at post and the Cape Coast stadium ,Kotokuraba market and other projects have gone into perpetual coma.
We wish to inform Ghanaians and in particular the President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills that we are really dissatisfied and we take this opportunity to draw his attention to more malpractices going on
• The misuse of state funds and the improper allocation of building contracts by Central Region Minister Ama Benyiwa Doe and the newly appointed Deputy Minister, Aquinas Quansah
• Tribalism and discrimination by Ama Benyiwa Doe ,the regional minister against fishermen from Elimina , Senya Breku and Biriwa and the diversion of premix fuel.
• Refusal by the Central Regional administration to publish accounts of its income and expenditure for the whole of 2011 and 1st Quarter of 2012.
• The collapse of the National Health insurance scheme and the inability of citizens in the region to pay hospital bills and the pocketing of monies meant to support the scheme by Ama Benyiwa Doe and Aquinas Quansah.
This state of affairs cannot be allowed to continue.
We cannot take part in campaigning and supporting the NDC until these serious problems are confronted and resolved.
We are waiting Mr President.
Thank You
