KOKU ANYIDOHO ACQUIRES 2 TOYOTA PRADOS MEANT FOR AGRIC EXTENSION OFFICERS
15.07.2012 LISTEN

The New Free Press is calling on the Minister for Agriculture Mr Kwesi Ahwoi to investigate the circumstances in which 2 brand new Toyota Prado vehicles, ordered by the government for the Ministry of Agriculture to assist Agric Extension Officers in the Asunafo North and Techiman Districts in the Brong Ahafo Region have strangely found their way into the compound of Mr Koku Anyidoho, spokesperson to President Mills and head of government communications.

Our source who works at at the Office of the President annex and regularly goes to the Osu castle as part of his daily duties, was shocked at the way Mr Koku Anyidoho annexed these vehicles and in strange circumstances, got the allocation paperwork changed for the vehicles which were requested by the Ministry of Agriculture, to the office of the President.

Mr Anyidoho wrote a letter dated 8th of March 2012, to the Chief of Staff, requesting allocation of vehicles to the communications unit at the presidency to assist with its outreach and community programmes.

But in a strange twist our source informed us Mr Anyidoho moved these vehicles to his sisters house at Abelemkpe, a suburb of Accra. The vehicles are currently there now at the time we went to print.

A Brand new Toyota Prado costs in the region of 50,000 US Dollars. How can a government official make away with three of these, no questions asked ,to his sisters house ?

How much did Mr Anyidoho pay for these vehicles as there is no evidence he paid for it?

We are really interested to see what Mr Kwesi Ahwoi, the Minster for Agriculture and President Mills will do about this. Agricultural Extension officers around the country are complaining of logistics and our farmers especially cocoa farmers complain of neglect by these same officers The Ghana Cocoa Board Chief Executive, Mr Tony Fofie recently stated that one of the challenges of the board was resourcing its personnel that advice farmers to grow sustainable crop varieties.

Whenever government attempts to help institutions, enemies of state appear from nowhere , loot these logistics and hide them in their sisters homes!

We at the New Free Press are really fed up with the naked looting and appropriation of state resources by some of President Mills's appointees.

For the avoidance of doubt, we attach the pictures of the 2 Toyota Prados in question.
