Zeideng, Others Co-opted Into NDC National Executive Committee

The National Democratic Congress has co-opted defunct Democratic Freedom Party members unto its national and regional executive committees.

Consequently, Mr Bede A. Ziedeng, the former General Secretary of the DFP and Mr Osei Piesie-Anto, the former national organiser of the party had been co-opted unto the National Executive Committee of the NDC.

The decision, according to a release issued by the national secretariat of the NDC and signed by Mr George Lawson, the deputy General Secretary, was the result of a meeting held on June 12, 2012 by the Functional Executive Committee, acting on behalf of the National Executive Committee under the powers conferred on it by article 50 of the party’s constitution.

According to the release, 10 other members had been co-opted unto the various regional executive committees of the NDC.

They are Mr Nikoi Addison, Greater Accra, Barima Sarfo Kantanka, Eastern, Charles Jojo Adu-Fordjour, western, Mr Frank Longdon, central, Mr Samuel Kofi Apedo, Volta, Nana Boadi Antoh, Brong Ahafo, Mr Mathias Gollo, Ashanti, Alhaji Yushawu, Northern, Mr Kwame Mumuni, Upper West and Alhaji, Masawudu Patience, Upper East.

The appointments take immediate effect and all regional executives of the NDC had been asked to take note and co-opt those appointed unto their various regional committees.

Meanwhile, the release said that other appointments to the constituency executive committees in the various regions would be announced later.
