MILLS PREDICTS 55% VICTORY *As he storms NDC headquarters

PRESIDENT John Evans Atta Mills last Wednesday stormed headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to meet with the leadership of the party.
The meeting, according to sources was to update the president on a whole range of issues including current happenings in the party as well as strategies for the up-coming general elections. Other issues include; the impending Wulensi by-election, creation of 46 new districts and many issues that occurred during the President's absence.
Though the visit was not announced to the party foot-soldiers, some of them besieged the headquarters to welcome him when word went round of his present at the headquarters.
This paper gathered that Functional Executive Committee of the party had scheduled a meeting on Tuesday but had to reschedules it to Wednesday to enable the President participate in the deliberations.
An aide to the President, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, later told the media that President Mills was briefed about the party's strategies to retain power in the upcoming elections.
He said the President after the briefing commended the leadership of the party for supporting his Better Ghana agenda. The President, according to Nii Lantey assured the leadership of the party of his readiness to work hard to ensure that the party retains power.
He assured followers of the party that the leadership has drawn up strategies that will ensure that the President attains not less than 55% of the total votes cast; adding that the NDC will sweep majority of parliamentary seats in the elections
Responding to further strategies of the upcoming bye-elections, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, who is also the parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodio constituency of the NDC said, “I am very sure that we are going to win the Wulensi bye-election. I am also sure that we are going to make good showing at Kwabre East. We are preparing seriously for the 2012 elections,” he said.
