A third-year kinesiology student of York University in Toronto, Rosemary Frimpong –Manso was crowned among pageantry and style as Miss Ghana Canada 2003 on August 31st at the Travel Lodge Hotel in Toronto, Canada. Rosemary who is the only child of Margaret Ama Owusu, Child and Youth Worker with the Children’s Aid Society (CAS) in Toronto came to Canada when she was Seven years old. Now 21 years old, Rosemary has been single-handedly parented into a beautiful and intelligent lady by her mother who Co-sponsored her in the pageant and culture show. For her prize, Rosemary took home a round trip ticket to Ghana courtesy of Ghana Airways, a $1000.00 CDN scholarship fund funded by D & S Personnel Services, mini component system and a 25inch colour television set. The position of 1st Runner up went to Anita Hayford, a student of Trent University who received a sharp 27inch colour TV and a $500 CDN Scholarship founded by Dr. Martin La-Kumi, former Consul General of Ghana in Toronto. Akua Kye Kye Frimpong who is also a student of Concordia University in Montreal took the Third position and was awarded a mini component and a $200 CDN Scholarship Rosemary Frimpong-Manso won also the Best Evening Gown and the best Kaba Awards as well as Miss Photogenic and shared the Best Talent Award with Jacqueline Bonsu. Miss Congeniality went to Joyce Dwomoh while Akua Kye Kye Frimpong took the President’s Award.
