Amasaman (GA), Sept. 1, GNA - Thirty-five traditional health service providers of Amasaman in the Ga District have ended a two-day workshop at Amasaman at the weekend. The workshop, organised by the Rural Water and Human Development AID, an (NGO) and Ghana AIDS Commission was on the theme: "Beware of (HIV/AIDS)."

The participants were taught how to conscientise people about the dreadful disease, and how to curb the alarming rate at which the disease was spreading.

Opening the ceremony, Mr. Sarpong Antwi Director of the NGO said about 200 people die everyday from the disease.

Mr. Sarpong said the disease was no respecter of persons and the youth are the most vulnerable group.

This, he said, will affect the strength of the labour force of the nation and thereby retard economic growth.

Mr. Joseph Azu, Co-ordinator for Rural Action Foundation, an NGO, who chaired the function appealed to the youth to abstain from sex.
