Ghana Electrical Contractors elect new regional officers
Kumasi, June 20, GNA – Mr Daniel Fosu, has been elected the new Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Ghana Electrical Contractors Association.
He polled 47 votes to beat his two other contestants, Mr Emmanuel Osuam-Sam and Mr Simon Osei Fordjour.
Other officers picked, included Messrs Emmanuel Sarsu, Vice Chairman, Emmanuel Kwame Apeletey, Secretary, Stephen Donkor, Treasurer, Mohammed Albert Oduro, Financial Secretary, and Zakaria Khalifa, Porter.
They would serve a three-year term.
Mr William Kwabena Amoah, General-Secretary of the Association, expressed joy at the peaceful conduct of the elections and urged the newly elected executive to live up to expectation.
He spoke of plans to organise refresher courses for the members to sharpen their skills and help them to keep pace with changing technological developments in the industry.
Mr Amoah advised them to avoid the use of sub-standard electrical materials and shoddy work in order to build public confidence.
Mr Joseph Walker, the National President, told the executives to see their election as a challenge and work hard to make the association vibrant.
