MTN holds forum to update traders on its packages

Techiman (B/A), June 18, GNA – A one-day forum to update participants on MTN data packages and bundle offers for MTN traders was held in Techiman in Brong-Ahafo Region at the weekend.

The event that was organised by the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) and sponsored by MTN, formed part of the

Association's initiative to share ideas on modern businesses, and explore innovative ways of doing business with MTN.

The participants were drawn from Nkoranza, Kintampo,Tain, Wenchi, Jema and Techiman areas.

Nana Asantewaa Amegashie, Senior Manager in-charge of

Consumer Marketing, MTN, said MTN started its operations in 1997 as a small business entity in South Africa and through hard work and determination expanded its activities to 22 countries and areas, including the Middle East.

She said in conducting business, “one has to be flexible, creative and above all adapt to changing trends, in addition to creating good relationship with other business partners to ensure successful operations”.

Nana Amegashie gave the assurance that MTN would continue to invest in the most advanced network infrastructure and provide innovative solutions to problems of its customers.

Mr. Stephen Asare, MTN Mobile Implementation Manager responsible for Northern Ghana, speaking on the topic: “MTN Mobile Bulk Payment and Milife,” said MTN would give “ cash management solution that offers flexibility, total security and convenience of accessing customers' money on their mobile phones wherever they may be”.

He said MTN would ensure convenience, accessibility, cost effectiveness and trust, and stressed that Milife insurance policy could enable a mobile customer have access through mobile money account.

Nana Osei Afrifa, Value Coordinator of MTN and Innovation Manager, asked the participants to use e-mail service to send invoices and quotations to potential customers, to save time and money, instead of personal delivery.

He asked traders to get in touch with their customers directly on MTN Bulk SMS and SIM, which he explained indicate control and what message they should send.

Mr. Jimmy Yeboah Asuamah, Brong-Ahafo Regional President of GUTA, said the forum would enable participants to realize “tailor-made products” in the mobile phone business and concentrate on MTN usage and patronage.
