MIKE AGGREY ENVISIONS A SUNSHINE FINISH FOR TIGER WOODS AT US OPEN
15.06.2012 LISTEN

Mike Aggrey, a member of the Achimota Golf Club has predicted that Tiger Woods has enough bling to cause a favorable upheaval in the ongoing US Open.

Wood's win at the memorial tied him with Jack Nicklaus on lifetime wins. Mike Aggrey, winner of the Frank Adu 50th Birthday Tourney contended that, without winning the Memorial Open for the 5th time, “Tiger will always pose a threat to any field.” he continued, “I think the confidence of winning again will take him into the US Open as huge favorite.”

Tiger Woods turned out style at the Memorial barely a fortnight ago with a chip-in that assumed its rightful place among his very iconic shots. A win again at this year's US Open in the championship's 117-year victory after the Memorial laurel will bring him into the circles of four times multiple champions of the enviable event.

Scotland's Willie Anderson, Bobby Jones of US, Ben Hogan (US), ad Jack Nicklaus (US) stay atop as four time champions each.

Coming off a high-end performance at the Frank Adu Birthday Invitational golf, that secured him first place finish in the Men Division, Mike Aggrey shared his opinion in the US Open even before the event took off. Tigers' buzz on Thursday that opened with a 1 –under 69, three shots behind leader Michael Thompson has raised hope of ending his four-year drought for the US Open Championships.

Tiger Woods was very expressive of his first round feat. “''I felt like I had control of my game all day,'' Woods said. ''Just stuck to my game plan - and executed my game plan.”

Mike Aggrey recounted his victory at the Birthday Invitational as special, amidst the charged atmosphere, and pressure of playing with the host, Frank Adu. His win a fortnight ago adds to three his total tally since the Franks Adu Birthday Invitational Tournament came to town.

Adding to the weight of his wins on birthday tournaments, are the late KEK's birthday, Paa Kwesi Yankey's 50th birthday and lately Kofi Amoabeng's 60th birthday.

A cursor look on his performance during the Frank Adu 50th Birthday Tourney on fast greens but not ridiculously firm, saw him strung together 4 pars and 5 bogeys on the front nine and I birdie, 3 pars, 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey on the back nine.

He agreed that the game was a wonderful test of golf, “I was putting very well on the front, but it seems as if my nerves got the better of me toward the end. I putted 3 times on holes 16 and 17.” He conceded and added, “I kept a cool head and navigated the course until holes 16 and 17, when it dawned on me that I could win the tournament and I became a little nervous.
