University Administrators declare nationwide strike over SSSS

The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has declared a nationwide strike over unresolved issues relating to the migration of its members onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).

Mr Solomon Panford, President of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Association, said they had been forced to adopt this line of action because of the lack of urgency to place them on the right scale.

He said their meetings with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Finance and Education Ministers,as well as Vice President John Mahama, over the past six months to get the salary disparities addressed had failed to yield any positive result.
