NPP Cruising To Victory In 2012 - Ayisi Boateng

Mr George Ayisi-Boateng, one of the New Patriotic Party’s founding members in the Ashanti Region, has said whether the Rawlingses campaigned for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) or not in the 2012 elections, would make no difference in the forthcoming polls.

In the view of Mr Ayisi-Boateng, the NPP was cruising to victory in the December general elections in view of the failed promises of the President Atta Mills led NDC administration..

He emphasised that whether the Rawlingses campaigned for the NDC or not should not bother any NPP member, let alone the floating members and stressed that they should not waste their time and energy to talk about it.

According to Mr Ayisi-Boateng what was needed, was for members of the NPP to continue to remain focused and to reach out to all nooks and crannies.

This, he pointed out, would enable them to win the support of floating masses to recapture political power in the forthcoming polls.

He called on the entire membership of the NPP to work hard to win more voters to buy into the vision and programmes of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He urged NPP members to brand and market their presidential candidate, as much as possible for the Ghanaian electorate.

“You need to tell Ghanaians who Nana Akufo-Addo is, what he stands for and what he can do for the citizenry”, Mr Ayisi Boateng stated.

He pointed out that Nana Akufo-Addo had compassion for Ghanaians, big dreams and was determined to transform Ghana into an industrial country in which the teeming youth who were unemployed could get jobs to do.

He disclosed that Nana Akufo-Addo’s running mate, Dr Mumuni Bawumia, had a total grip of the economy and could, therefore, help in resuscitating the shattered economy in order to minimise or reduce what he described as the unprecedented hardship that Ghanaians were facing under the President Mills-led administration.

Mr Ayisi-Boateng observed that the NPP were lucky that Nana Akufo-Addo thought it wise to re-nominate Dr Bawumia as his running-mate because “he knows, as well as you and I, that issues pertaining to the country’s economy are pertinent and that when Nana Akufo-Addo becomes the next president of the Republic of Ghana, he will need the economic brain of Dr Bawumia to move the country forward”.

He added that “Dr Bawumia is an economic technocrat of excellence, which had been confirmed by the International Monetary Fund (IMF)”.
