No Woyomegate *Under my administration –Nduom Assures
12.06.2012 LISTEN

The presidential candidate of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has declared that his administration would ensure that there is judicious use of state funds.

He said under his watch no individual or a few individuals would be given the opportunity to use all manner of means to collect huge state funds without doing any work for the country.

Short of mentioning the infamous Woyomegate issue, Dr Nduom's comments were in inference to the payment of some GH¢51m to one Alfred Agbesi Woyome, a self-styled financier of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which indications are that he (Alfred Agbesi Woyome) was paid the said huge amount for no work done.

Dr Ndoum's comments were in direct answer to critics who say his model school project of ensuring that education in the country would be free, continuous and compulsory from the kindergarten level to senior high school was untenable.

According to him a PPP administration would ensure an incorruptible administration where there would be judicious use of state funds to enable the administration fund laudable projects like free, compulsory and continuous education in the country and many others that he intends to push with the state purchasing power.

He wondered why with naturally endowed resources like timber, gold, bauxite, diamond and lately oil Ghanaians should be wallowing in poverty, and assured that a PPP administration with him as the president, will make sure that proceeds from these resources are used to improve the living standard of every Ghanaian.

He was particularly sad that some Ghanaian children with the potential of becoming engineers, doctors and other top professionals cannot realise their dreams because of the poor management of state resources.

That explains Dr Nduom's call for voters in the Brong Ahafo Region to entrust him with the presidency to make judicious use of the country's resources to benefit every Ghanaian.

“Put all your burden on me for just four years and see what I can do for you,” Dr Nduom declared, adding that although he was aware that most Ghanaian youth were unemployed, what he is currently doing to offer employment would be nothing compared to if he had the chance to use the state purse at his disposal to create jobs.

“That is the only way that I can offer more employment to many Ghanaians. And through my individual efforts at creating jobs for some 10,000 Ghanaians, you can trust me to deliver more if you help me get the power that is required to offer you more jobs,” Dr Nduom noted.

Dr Nduom was speaking to a number of communities in the Brong Ahafo Region on his latest community-based campaign tour of the country.

Some of the communities that Dr Nduom toured were Sankore and Kokoum in the Asunafo South and Gaoso in the Asunafo North of the Brong Ahafo Region.

He also visited Dormaa Ahenkro and Wemfie.
He visited lorry parks, market centres, the GPRTUs, opinion leaders and interacted with villagers along the way.

The spontaneous response accorded Dr Nduom and his team was as infectious as those he had received since the beginning of the national tour some six weeks ago.

In between these towns Dr Nduom interacted with the people of some of the villages that he drove through.

These included Bediakokrom, Kyeremaso, Bediako, Kwadwo Addeikrom, Amabo-Tronom, Kwame Assuah, Amarasu, Dorma Aniabo, Pampasomasu, Asuotiano, Nsuatre and Nanasuano.
