The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ben Ali Seaman has appealed to farmers in the country to vote the party into power to improve their lives.

He noted that the current government stopped the distribution of fertilizers to farmers, adding, 'There were free fertilizers and drugs like DDT for farmers which were being distributed free of charge under the Kufour regime.

Speaking in an interview with DAILY GUIDE in Accra, the NPP Constituency Organizer, who is also a farmer, enumerated several challenges that the farmers face and asked the government to show more commitment towards them.

Mr. Seaman stressed that there were no fertilizers for cocoa farmers, adding, 'We used to get free fertilizers and drugs at subsidize prices during the Kufour regime but now we do not know what is happening under the Atta Mills administration. Life is really difficult due to lack of fertilizers or drugs to spray our cocoa pods,' he said.

'These are the main reasons why we are appealing to Ghanaians to vote the National Democratic Congress (NDC) out of power.

He noted that aside farmers being neglected by the NDC government, Ghanaian youth were also suffering because of unemployment.

'Teachers are also crying since the NDC government is not sensitive to their plight and is not doing much to improve their poor pay structure.

'The current inflation situation in the country is another problem that needs to be used against President Mills's government.

'We expect NDC government to embark on projects that would help improve their lot.'

Mr. Seaman described the current Mills administration as the worst democratic government in the country's history, adding that members of the NDC should appreciate the fact that it is too late for them to change the minds of Ghanaian voters.

He revealed that NPP supporters in the districts and the rural areas were poised to work hard to prevent the NDC from rigging the upcoming general elections.

'The NPP supporters will therefore monitor the electoral process and thwart any move or steps by NDC gurus to apply fraudulent means to win the elections,' he told the paper in Accra.
