‘Bible, Quran For Castle 2013′
THE WIFE of NPP the vice presidential candidate has predicted the party will once again make history by bringing together the Bible and the Quran at the Castle on January 7, 2013.
At a recent NPP youth forum in Kumasi, Samira Bawumia expressed confidence the main opposition party will clinch victory in the December elections.
'What I am saying is that the NPP will win the December 7 polls so that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, a Christian will combine forces with my husband Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, a Muslim to better the fortunes of the country,' she explained.
According to her, when the Bible and the Quran came to the Castle on January 7, 2001 for the first time since the country returned to democratic rule in 1992, the nation witnessed tremendous growth in all facets of the economy.
She said there is no denying the fact that the era of ex-President Kufuor and Alhaji Aliu Mahama had a positive impact on Ghana's development.
'I am confident that history will repeat itself in seven months time because when the Bible combined effectively with the Quran, the nation was the ultimate beneficiary,' she emphasized.
Samira therefore entreated the electorate not to forget about the experiences of 2001 to 2008 and entrust their mandate to the NPP so that the benefits of that period could be revisited on the country.
She particularly appealed to Muslim communities to embrace the healthy combination the NPP was offering them again and vote massively for the party in the upcoming polls.
'My brothers and sisters, it is high time we recognized the fact that the NPP is the party for us because it is always during their time that we get fair representation at the Castle, so let us accept them and take them as our own,' she advised.
She stressed that the NPP is a party composed of decent people so its supporters should stay away from the politics of insults and personality attacks and rather concentrate on propagating the policies and ideals of the party.
'If they decide to insult and attack our personalities, please do not allow yourselves to be dragged into the practice because we are decent and will speak on issues that will transform the lives of our people,' Mrs. Bawumia said.
