N/R NDC CALLS FOR SECURITY CHECK ON NANA ADDO

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2012 elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has been cautioned by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in the region, to a clean and decent politics and not to attempt to divide the NDC family in the region.

At a press conference in Tamale yesterday, the regional secretary of the NDC Alhaji Umar Farouk said, as part of Nana Addo's tour of the reion, the NDC was aware of a secret meeting which took place in Tamale by the NPP and address by its flagbearer, Nana Addo, hatching a diabolical plan to sow seeds of disunity within the NDC family.

According to Alhaji Umar the NPP was planning to get some youth, notably, NPP sympathizers to put on NDC T-shirts and to address a news conference calling on the president, His Excellency Prof. Evans Atta Mills to prosecute Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings for the murder of three high judges since according to them the keys to the vehicle which was used to escort the three judges were taken from the former first Lady's room.

The NDC regional scribe added that, another counter press conference was to be organized by another group of the same NPP stock, impressing upon the president not to prosecute the first lady and rather let sleeping dogs lie.

Alhaji Umar described this desperate plan as wicked and most unfortunate which must be condemned by all Ghanaians.

He called on members of the NDC fraternity to remain calm and not to get detracted by these evil agenda of the desperate opposition NPP.

He warned persons or group of people who are contemplating on orchestrating this agenda to desist and called on the security services to deal drastically with any one arrested in this direction.

The regional party secretary also indicated that, a complaint has been lodged with the security agencies. He added that, the region is a peaceful one and should not be disturbed by any desperate politician in the country.
