Kennedy Agyepong Plans Church

KENNEDY Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin North, has dropped a hint that he would become a prophet of God and establish his own church after retiring from politics.

The MP is currently facing charges of felony, terrorism and genocide after he allegedly declared war on his Madina-based Oman Fm recently.

Mr. Agyapong said his plans to go into ministry was based on the premise that predictions he made about the NDC during the 2008 electioneering campaign and the dangerous trench it will lead the nation into if voted into power have all come to pass.

He was addressing teeming party supporters on Friday at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Tano North district of the Brong Ahafo region at the maiden 'People's Forum' and 2012 campaign launch of the constituency's parliamentary candidate, Freda Prempeh.

Mr. Agyapong's presence at the forum brought all activities to a standstill for nearly 30 minutes as the people who were elated to see him after his release from police detention mobbed him. He had to take time to go into the crowd to exchange pleasantries with the gathering before the program could continue.

According to the MP, he told Ghanaians in 2008 that the NDC had nothing good to offer the country and that if they voted the party into power, they would cry for divine intervention.

Indeed, he said, the people of Ghana are crying for a savior to rescue them from the current economic doldrums that the NDC government has plunged the entire nation into.

He said there is unprecedented economic hardship, corruption, abject poverty and daylight robbery of the nation's resources by government officials for their personal use.

This prediction, he noted, has come to pass as Ghanaians have now regretted voting for the Mills-led NDC government and their living conditions have deteriorated over the last three years due to bad economic policies and corruption.

He said the NDC embarked on vile propaganda and lies to convince the electorate to vote for them and have now been exposed by their evil deeds and incompetence.

He further warned that the Ghanaian economy will see total collapse if the Mills-Mahama administration is given another four year term.

Mr. Agyapong compared President Mills to the biblical King Saul of Israel who was installed after the Israelites demanded that God give them a king at all cost but likened NPP presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo to King David, Saul's successor who he believes is chosen by God to lead Ghana into prosperity and economic emancipation.

The Assin North MP called on all NPP sympathizers and good-spirited citizens to protect the general election results from being   manipulated by the ruling government which is desperate to cling to power.

He however called for total peace and unity in the country and advised the youth to avoid acts that could lead to violence before, during and after the December polls.
