PASTOR H.Y. Omane, Stadium SDA District Pastor in Kumasi, has cautioned nursing mothers to refrain from abandoning their newborn babies in gutters and other dirty places.
He said it was great sin in the sight of God for any human being to throw away her innocent child into a gutter or toilet because they do not have money to take care of them.
The SDA pastor noted that the favour and blessing of God was what parents needed to take care of their children therefore it was not proper for anyone to easily give up hope by throwing away their children.
He gave the counsel when the Kumasi Children's Home took delivery of various items including used clothes, soap, Christian books, milk and other items worth GH¢2,000.
The presentation was made by the SDA Church of Bomso in Kumasi and was aimed at helping the upkeep of inmates of the home.
Making the presentation, Pastor Owusu Achiaw, said the largesse formed part of the church's social responsibility.
Elder Isaac Owusu, a church representative said government alone could not take care of orphans living in foster homes and entreated the populace to support them.
