Catholic Women Association supports minor Seminary

Amisano(C/R) May 21, GNA- The Catholic Women Association (CWA) of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast has donated food items to the students of St Theresa's Minor Seminary at Amisano in the Central Regional to facilitate their upkeep.

The items which were presented by Mrs Comfort Forson, the Diocesan President of the Association, included gallons of palm and vegetable oils, bags of rice, maize, sugar, gari, smoked fish, plantain, tubers of yam, milk, loaves of bread, Milo, toiletries and undisclosed amount of money.

Mrs Forson said the Association is recognised as the “mother of the Catholic Church “hence the responsibility to see to the welfare of the students who are being trained as priests of the church.

She urged the students to take their studies seriously and also endeavour to lead responsible and disciplined lives by remaining focused, submissive, humble, and selfless and give their teachers the needed respect.

Reverend Fr. Odartey Lamptey, who received the items thanked the Association for the kind gesture and said it would go a long way to help with the feeding of the students.

He called on other associations in the Catholic Church to emulate the example of the CWA.

Fr Lamptey said the school is enjoying the necessary peace and tranquillity needed for effective academic work and urged parents not to leave the training of the students for the teachers alone to handle.

Rev Fr Panford, Rector of the seminary also commended the CWA for their regular visit, support and prayers to the seminary which he noted has helped in the training of the seminarians.
