The NPP Parliamentary candidate for the Mfantseman West constituency in the Central Region, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng has described the pending general elections as crucial.

He has therefore called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work hard to recapture power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He observed that the NPP is the only party in the country which has a strong base from the polling station level to the top.

He maintained the NPP's defeat to the NDC was a blessing in disguise, saying its presence in opposition has taught the party some good lessons.

Mr. Asamoah-Boateng was speaking at a handing-over ceremony for Executives of the Cape Coast Polytechnic wing of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP.

He congratulated TESCON for committing themselves to the party throughout the years and hoped they would continue to support the party in diverse ways, indicating that their support accounted for the party's success and charged them to use their slogan of “Commitment without inducement”.

Mr. Asamoah- Boateng also appealed to the students to ensure discipline, saying that NPP will create sustainable jobs and bring the economy back on track when given the chance in this year's elections.

He appealed to TESCON to contribute their bid to bring the NPP back to power.

The new President of the local TESCON, Benjamin Ewudzie Adobah said the December elections would be decided by young people and hoped all concerns associated with the youth would be addressed.
