Kashket Group CEO Visits Ghana

The Chief Executive Officer of the Kashket Group, Mr Tim Newnes, has arrived in the country on a six-day visit to explore ways of cooperayion with Ghanaian companies in both the public and private sectors.

He explained to newsmen that he would use his visit to try and find areas where the Kasket Group could help bring help to bring prosperity to the region by working with private and public sectors.

Mr Newnes said his company also planned to establish uniform manufacturing capability in the country to satisfy the requirements of clients.

He believes that this approach from a five times royal warrant holder and current supplier to eight royal households, and the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence ushered in a new partnership deal between clients and service provider.

Mr Newnes said he had implemented a growth programme over the past five years that had seen new customers sign up today the Kashket Group in a partnership fashion.

' The group is a base knowledge and excellence for our customers who may contract our services in a number of flexible ways,' he said.

Mr Newnes who served in the British Army for 22 years assumed leadership of the Kashket Group in 2006 and since his appointment has been involved in the growth of the company to a turnover exceeding 45million in 2009 after the purchase of Wensum PLC.

Since then, there have been a number of acquisitions and sales in the Group over the past five years seeking to construct the most comprehensive ceremonial and parade uniform group of companies in the world.

Mr Newnes joined the Army in 1984 in the Royal Army Ordnance Corp where he served in various operational environments including Northern Irelandand Bosnia until his eventual departure in 2006.

In military terms, he specialised in Logistics and Planning having been involved in Theatre of War deployments to Bosnia ensuring that appropriate levels of equipment and other material support were in place to support up to 10,000 troops deployed in a war fighting role.

In 1998 Mr Newnes was awarded a NATO Commanders Commendation for Valuable Service in the former Republic of Yugoslavia in recognition of his efforts. He also served for two years with the UN based in Cyprus and supporting the UN Mission there and in other parts of the Middle East.
