Everpure Head To Court…Over Snake Allegations

MANAGEMENT of Everpure Purified Drinking Water has vehemently debunked wild allegations that the fast growing company has giant snakes in its huge water tanks.

The allegations are that the snakes make the water pure and sweet to drink.

The company has offered to pay a cash sum of GHC 3,000 to any person or group that could offer vital information leading to the arrest of the people spreading the false news.

In the meantime, the company has hauled two water producing companies in Kumasi who are said to be behind the wild rumours to the police in Kumasi for questioning and forwarding of the matter to court.

The Administrative/Marketing Manager, Everpure Purified Drinking Water, Eric Gyasi Darko, mentioned the two water producing companies who are in hot waters as Prima Filtered Water Company and Be-First Water, all based in Kumasi.

He alleged that information reaching him indicated that the two aforementioned companies started spreading the rumour about two months ago 'and we have now decided to confront them for the whole truth of the matter to become manifest.'

Addressing a section of the media invited for an inspection tour of the Atonsu Agogo premises of Everpure Purified Drinking Water, Mr. Gyasi Darko noted that his company decided to react to the rumour now because 'keeping silent might send wrong indication that the speculation is true.'

He lamented that the falsehood was gradually gaining currency in the city as more people, especially their loyal customers, had been visiting their offices to verify the truth or otherwise of the matter.

Mr. Gyasi Darko pointed out that Everpure Purified Drinking Water would take up the case, possibly to the law courts, for justice to be done, disclosing that the Food and Drugs Board and the Standards Board had been contacted to assist in investigating the case.

He stated that 'our brand success has come and come so quickly mainly because of our advanced technology we deploy in producing our water and nothing else.' He warned that the company would make those behind the rumours face the rigours of the laws of the land.

Mr. Gyasi Darko stressed that Ghanaians deserved good quality drinking water. He therefore promised that Everpure Purified Drinking Water would not let the rumour deter them but would always uphold accepted standards in producing water for the general public.
