Tarkwa, May 8, GNA - A Tarkwa circuit court has remanded a 20- year-old man, Obed Dorbachne, for stealing four used tyres belonging to Goldfields Ghana Limited Tarkwa, mine.
He pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on May 15.
Police Chief Inspector Florence Tawiah told the court presided over by Mr. Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on May 5 security men of the spotted the accused and another now at large in a bush at the company's south plant near a tyre bay.
Inspector Tawiah said when the security officers tried to confront them the other man bolted and the accused was arrested and a search in the bush revealed four used tyres.
She said the accused stated that on May 4 he was invited by his associate to go and steal the used tyres and while they were about to convey them the security officers arrested him.
