Maize prices drop in the Takoradi market
Wholesale and retail prices of maize dipped over the week by 5 percent (Ghc 1.00 to Ghc 0.95) and 16 percent (Ghc 1.20 to Ghc 1.00) in the Takoradi market. The commodity, however, traded flat in Agbogbloshie, Bawku, Kumasi Central, Tamale, Techiman and Hohoe market at both trading levels for the same period under review.
Retail price of tomato stabilizes in the Techiman market.
The retail price of tomatoes stabilized over the week after an astronomical increase in the Techiman market. ESOKO market watchers expressed fear of a possible continuous increase in the price if the demand and supply trend did not change to bring prices down. However, the wholesale price dipped marginally by 6 percent (Ghc 2.88 to Ghc 2.70). The Takoradi market registered price increase in the commodity at both trading levels over the week. Wholesale and retail prices went up by 40 percent (Ghc 2.00 to Ghc 2.80) and 17 percent (Ghc 3.00 to Ghc 3.50) respectively.
