Gory Murder In Kumasi As Father Stabs Children To Death

Kwadwo Yeboah, the murder suspect who is on the runResidents of Sepe Timpom, a Kumasi suburb, witnessed a horrific incident on Wednesday when a 27-year-old ex-convict, Kwadwo Yeboah, allegedly stabbed his two children to death.

Both children, Ama Francisca, one-and-a-half, and Abena Adwubi, four, had their intestines gushed out when their bodies were found nine hours after the attack.

Their mother, Ama Foriwaa, who was four months’ pregnant, was also stabbed in the abdomen but did not die instantly until Friday morning.

She was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) where she was rushed after her mother had seen her and the children in a pool of blood around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

She however passed away Thursday.
Before her death, Foriwaa said Yeboah had first stabbed her around 11 a.m. before stabbing the children in turns.

She said she fell on the floor moments after she was stabbed and feigned death.

She said Yeboah, with whom she had forged a close relationship for over five years, satisfied that he had achieved his intention, turned his attention to Adwubi, whom she stabbed with the same sharp knife, and seconds later he stabbed Francisca too.

Foriwaa said after stabbing the children, the suspect laid them on her as they bled profusely, disregarding the agony they were going through and the plea of the children to be given water to drink.

According to her, before the act, Yeboah had first pushed some materials into her mouth to prevent her from shouting to attract attention.

He also increased the volume of the television set in the room to prevent the tenants in their compound house from hearing any noise that would emanate from the room.

Foriwaa’s mother, Madam Adwoa Manu, who was the first to appear on the scene, told graphic.com.gh that moments after she had entered the room where the atrocity had been carried out around 8 p.m., she felt that she was walking in a thick fluid, saying that since the room was dark, she put on her mobile phone, only to see the children lying on top of their mother.

“I gathered courage and removed the children, only to see their intestines hanging out of their stomachs. Alarmed, I shouted for help and attended to my daughter, who was still breathing,” she said.

Madam Manu said they rushed Foriwaa to KATH and alerted the police, who rushed in to pick the bodies to the KATH mortuary.

When asked if the suspect had been quarreling with her daughter in recent times, Madam Manu said the two had not been on good terms of late, saying she had warned the suspect not to step into the house again until he had formally married the victim.

She also said that she had just learnt from a neighbour that before attacking her daughter and her grandchildren, the suspect had confided in Foriwaa that they should poison the children to reduce the money they were expending on them.

The suspect, who attempted to hang himself afterwards with a sponge, sneaked from the compound house, giving the police the hectic task of tracing his whereabouts.
