
Suhum (E/R), May 3, GNA - Three people died on the spot, with 45 others seriously injured when a KIA cargo truck on which they were travelling crashed into a valley at Amenhyia near Suhum at the weekend.
The dead had been identified as Simon Lartey, Mary Afua Adumia and Wiafi Rita, both traders.
A police source told the Ghana News Agency that the deceased with 65 others were travelling from Suhum to attend a funeral at Adukrom.
The source added that the driver of the vehicle who was suspected to be drunk, in an attempt to avoid a head-on collusion with a cargo truck crashed into the valley.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Government Hospital Mortuary whiles the injured persons have also admitted at the same hospital.
