Accra, May 1, GNA - Insurance companies have been tasked to adopt efficient marketing and advertizing strategies based on a win-win approach for effective business partnership to the mutual benefit of the companies and churches.

Network of Associations of Registered non-governmental organizations (NGO's) in Ghana, which made the call on Tuesday, asked insurance companies to penetrate the market, to cover at least 20 per cent of the population in churches.

A statement signed by Dr. Opam Adjei, Director of Administration of the Association, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, indicated that Mr Kofi Lucas, a member of the Association, said that the association was to create a platform for Christians to invest in insurance companies, to promote national development.

Mr Lucas said: “This would ensure a sustainable investment and socio-economic development to accelerate poverty reduction, wealth and job creation and to partner the business community for mutual benefits.

“The time has come for the Church and the business community to strategically collaborate and corporate for mutual benefits. Though, the church has a responsibility to meet the spiritual, material and social needs of members, its services to society in the areas of education, food, agriculture and health should be given special attention”.

He said efforts were being made by Churches in Ghana to create jobs to complement the efforts of government and the private sector.

Mr Lucas said the association would assist all religious organizations to enable them to support their members to contribute to national development.

He urged insurance companies to take advantage of the huge market of the Christian community which he said, constituted 65 per cent of the population to strategically market their goods and services.

Mr Lucas asked churches to engage in farming, small scale industries and enterprises to create jobs to reduce unemployment.

The Network of NGOs in Ghana is a non-profit organization, which educate Christians on forms of investments in Ghana.
