Akim Oda (E/R), May 1, GNA – Charles Oppong, a landlord who threw a bucketfull of hot water on a female tenant and punched the face of the tenant's husband for intervening, has been bonded to be of good behavior for 12 months.
The Akim Oda Magistrate Court presided over by Mr. Albert Owusu Annor, ruled that Oppong should also pay a fine of 200 Ghana cedis if he failed to execute the bond.
The prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah told the court that Mr. Osei, a teacher, and his wife Madam Akosua Koramaa, rented a room in Oppong's house at Akim Oda.
He said on April 10, Oppong removed Madam Koramaa's towel on a drying line, threw it on the ground and told her not to hang her stinking cloths on the drying line again.
The Chief Inspector said when Madam Koramaa asked him why he did that, Oppong became offended and rained insults on her.
The prosecutor said Oppong threw a bucketfull of hot water on her and assaulted her, adding that when her husband stepped in to rescue his wife the landlord assaulted him also.
