Prez Nominates Oppong Agona West MCE
The President, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, has nominated Mr Samuel Oppong as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Agona West Municipal Assembly in the Central Region.
He replaces Mr Kwaku Tetteh, whose appointment was revoked by the President.
Mr Oppong, who is currently the National Co-ordinator of the Computerised Schools Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), is the
Presiding Member of the Agona West Municipality, which has Agona Swedru as its capital.
Mr Oppong is a native of Agona Nyarkrom in the municipality and a graduate of the University of Cape Coast. He has an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Governance, Leadership and Public Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
He is also a law student at the London University.
He told the Daily Graphic that he was committed to the development of his people, saying that was why for sometime now, he had dedicated his services to the development of the area.
Having also served as a former Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, he said he had a better understanding of what pertained in the area, and was, therefore, poised to accelerate the development of the municipality.
The assembly is yet to fix a date for his approval.
