When our leaders lock horns in Africa………….

The season of ensuring peace to promote development in Africa is not

when we are already in a ring of fighting. We need to prevent wars in

Africa so that we can focus on development. Our continent is far behind development and signs of war should be checked as early as possible to deal with such a canker. Students should be taught in schools and colleges on the dangers of conflicts and wars. Our leaders should always make speeches that should be lessons to all and more particularly the youth who are the heirs of Africa tomorrow.

Our speeches should not be insults and lies. Our speeches should be the one that are good to be quoted in other people's speeches. An angry man does not make good speeches because his words will be his feelings that may not be pleasant to the hearing of other people.

It is good we have democracy in Africa but it is better we under the word democracy and how it should be practised in African societies.

Democracy moves with education, and when that fails, democracy will be seen as autocracy.

For instance, the implementation of Biometric registration in Ghana has challenges due to low education in rural areas on how the new system works.

Many people are ignorance of how one should be challenged at the registration centres. Many people do not even know that whether a person qualifies or not she/ he has the right to go through all the registration process even if the person has been challenged.

If we don't need war, we must prevent certain things that could bring war. Unlawful behaviours should be quickly checked. Preventing people from registering is an unlawful behaviour.

No group or individual should be allowed to take the laws into their own hands to beat any body or group. Let us allow the Law to work and avoid partiality of law implementation by the concern authority.

He who does not want an insult does his work always well. When our leaders lock horns, we shall suffer a lot and therefore we need to always preach peace even if our leaders do not, so that we can promote peace in Ghana.
