Hearts of Oak's goal stopper Sammy Adjei has denied snubbing his coach C.K. Akunnor during their game against Ebusua Dwarfs last Sunday in Accra.

The former Black Stars goalkeeper has been accused of flouting the orders of Akunnor when the latter questioned his decision to waste a goal kick by playing it over the touch line.

Faced with a Fair Play situation, Adjei kicked the ball out for an injured Dwarfs player to receive attention on the pitch.

Akunnor screamed from the lines over the goalkeeper's action taking into account the 0-0 score line and the time (81st minute). Adjei allegedly got infuriated and threw his hands in the air snobbishly.

But Adjei has cleared himself on Happy FM, saying, 'I didn't snub coach Akunnor. I was only asking what he said because I didn't hear the instruction he gave.

'I can't do that, he is my coach and I must obey whatever instruction he gives. He confronted me at training on Monday on the issue, and I explained, he understood my point, so there is no bad blood between us.'

'I want to apologize all the same if my action was offensive. I am sorry to my fans, they mean so much to me because I nobody without them. I am sorry to coach Akunnor as well,' he added.

Adjei conceded losing this year's league title to rivals Asante Kotoko pointing out: 'Oh yes I can say that Kotoko have won the league, our attention is now on the FA Cup.

'We want to win the FA Cup so we beat them in the champion of champions to compensate for the painful 1-2 loss recently. We want to tell the whole world that we are better than they are,' Sammy said.

Adjei rejoined the domestic league after a spell in Tunisia, France and Israel.

Young goalkeeper Philemon Mac-Cathy has been his contender but the former Black Stars safe pair of hands has said he is not in competition with anyone.

Rather, he is doing his bit to restore his lost glory.
