Former President Jerry John Rawlings is in a crunch meeting with some chiefs from the Volta region in a move to resolve the strained relationship between him and sitting president, John Mills.
His wife, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, as well as Lower Manya Krobo MP, Michael Teye Nyaunu, Mr. Kofi Adams, Mr. Josiah Aryeh, Madam Sylvia Awornu, General Secretary of the 31st December Women's Movement are also said to be in the meeting.
The Chiefs, known as Royals for Peace and Development are locked up in a closed-door meeting with ex-president Rawlings at his Ridge Residence.
The 20-meeting group is being chaired by Togbe Adala Adalakoe II and snippets of information being picked up by Citi News is that the chiefs have used the opportunity to 'pour their hearts out' in the meeting that has lasted for well over an hour.
It will be recalled that regional minister and all the 10 regional National Democratic Congress chairmen met in separate meetings in Kumasi some few weeks ago and resolved to use selected chiefs to bring the party founder and his flagbearer together before the elections.
