THE CHANCELLOR of Rohi Christian Leadership Institute, Reverend Chris Parsram has asked Christians to ensure peace as the nation draws closer to the December general elections.

He reminded Christians that 'the scriptures instruct us to ensure that darkness is replaced with light,' and they must be ambassadors for peace wherever they find themselves.

The recent biometric voter registration exercise has recorded pockets of violence leading to injuries while a number of people have been arrested for various offences.

As a result of the development, many have expressed fear about violence during the upcoming election but Reverend Parsram is optimistic there is no need for apprehension.

He was speaking at the maiden graduation of the institute in Accra where 38 students passed out after receiving training in Christian leadership.

He noted that though “the political landscape has become fraught with insults and agitations,' the situation could be changed if Christians who form the majority of the population 'inject tolerance, respect, peace and understanding into society.”

Rev. Parsram, who is also the Presiding Pastor at the Madina branch of Word Miracle Church, called on Ghanaians in general to do their best to ensure peace and stability for total development.

Rev. Dr. Abraham Esseh, a senior lecturer at the institute said though character instruction was imperative in Christianity, many churches preached about success and ignored virtue and righteousness.

The graduates were each awarded with a Diploma In Theology, for completing the five-month course.

The chancellor's special award for the Most Inspiring Student went to Margaret Martinson while Deaconess Margaret Amoafo was adjuged Overall Best Student.
