
Tamale, April 15, GNA - Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2012 general elections has reiterated his commitment to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians if given the mandate.
He assured Ghanaians that the NPP, through its programmes and policies, create jobs and other opportunities for the people.
Nana Akufo-Addo said this at the national Muslim day of prayer in Tamale, for God to grant the country an atmosphere of peace during and after the 2012 elections, at the weekend.
Sheik Abdul-Salam, the Regional Chief Imam, prayed for the peace of the nation as well as for the NPP flag bearer.
The NPP flag bearer used the opportunity to introduce Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to the electorate, as his running mate.
Nana Akufo-Addo described his running mate as a worthy partner, who could contribute to the development of the country, taking into consideration his professional background.
Some leading members of the NPP in the entourage of Nana Akufo-Addo included Mr Boakye Agyarko, campaign manager, Mr Anthony Karbo, National Youth Organiser, Madam Jaba Afisa Otiko, National Women's Organiser and Mr Owusu Afriyie, National Secretary.
Nana Akufo-Addo's two day visit to the northern region had earlier taken him to Walewale and other parts of the Mamprugu traditional area, where his running mate hails from, to introduce him to the chiefs and people of the area and asked for their blessings.
