THIRD  RUNNER-UP OF last year's TV3 popular programme, Ghana's Most Beautiful, Miss Abena Kyeiwaa has donated items worth  GH¢25,000.00 to Nyamaa Basic primary and JHS in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The items, sponsored by Henkcom Multimedia, include four computers, four dustbins and 1,000 exercise books, among others. The beauty queen said the choice of Nyamaa Basic School was informed by the fact that it lacked some basic needs.

She noted that since education was globally recognized as a key to human development towards the eradication of poverty, it was incumbent that the promotion of education should be a major concern for all.

Abena urged the teachers to encourage cleanliness in schools, to help create an ideal environment for learning. Mrs. Mary Cathrine Bertor, the headmistress, received the items on behalf of the school, and thanked the donors for the kind gesture.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Sunyani, Honourable Akwasi Oppong Ababio advised the students to emulate the good example of Abena, and called on NGO's, philanthropists and civil society organizations to support education.

The Sunyani Municipal Director of Education, Rev. Kankam Dufour advised the children to take their studies serious, in order to become responsible citizens in the future.
