Accra, April 4, GNA - Vodafone Ghana on Wednesday said it has opened entries for questions from the public on health matters for the season two of its health initiative programme, Healthline, to be aired on all major television and radio stations in the country.

Individuals are expected to text their questions on any health related issue to the short code 1788 across all networks or via the Healthline facebook page, these questions would be answered by a panel of doctors when the programme commences.

Mrs Camen Bruce-Annan, Head of Corporate Communications, Vodafone, Ghana stated the need for people to text in their health questions to determine the content of the show.

“We want to empower people to take control of their own health practices and this starts with giving them accurate, reliable information, which is relevant to them. We will cover any topic that the public demands because if it is a health concern to them then it is important that we address it”.

She explained that over 10,000 questions were submitted by the public, which was used to develop the content of both the television and the radio show in the last season, adding, “following the success of both the radio and TV show, more questions are expected from the public for the next season and the television programme will be adapted to address the many health concerns of the public”.

Mrs Bruce-Annan noted that the public's reaction to last season's show indicated that there was the need for an initiative such as Healthline and that the programme would continue as long as it interests the public.

“Knowledge about common health issues and practices can improve our lifestyle and even save lives so it is important that we give accurate, reliable information” he explained.

For the next four weeks the public are also to submit their questions by visiting the Healthline facebook page.
