
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Running Mate to Nana Akufo-Addo for the 2012 General Elections today, Monday, April 2nd, 2012, met National Officers of the New Patriotic Party for the first time since he was unanimously approved by the National Council of the NPP as the Party's Running Mate.
Dr. Bawumia who arrived at the Party's Asylum Down Head Office to loud cheers by the Party supporters present took time to fraternize with the supporters gathered and staff at the Head Office before proceeding to meet the National Officers.
Dr. Bawumia used the opportunity to thank the flagbearer and Party leadership for keeping faith with him and for overwhelmingly endorsing his nomination as the Party's Running Mate for the 2012 General Elections.
The renowned Economist and Banker praised the leadership of the Party for successfully supervising the implementation of various reforms in the Party since the 2008 Elections which he added had made the party stronger and in better shape for the Elections and governance when elected. He also commended the Party's Communication team for ensuring that the NDC had been kept on the back foot on various policy issues and for exposing the incompetence that had characterized the NDC administration.
Dr. Bawumia touched on the unity prevailing in the Party saying that it was most commendable and significant as it meant that the Party was fully resolved to recapture power. He indicated that he has an open door policy to all Party Members, saying “I have no biases and am very willing to work with everybody in the Party”.
The Running Mate assured the National Officers that he was fully prepared to work closely with the Party structures and pledged to contribute his quota toward building a stronger, more vibrant and more capable Party from the Polling Station to the National Level.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia promised to work hard and give his all to seeing the Party emerge victorious in the December 2012 General Elections adding that he was most prepared for the Campaign ahead, which he said would require the commitment and utmost dedication of all Party members.
In attendance was the flagbearer of the Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, National Chairman, Mr. Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, all National Officers and the Campaign Manager for the 2012 Elections, Mr. Boakye Agyarko.
