MTN Ghana Supports Tamale SHS

MTN Ghana Foundation has supported the Tamale Senior High School with sanitation facilities and educational materials worth GH¢59, 524.06.

The items included library books, sporting kits, laboratory stools, shelves and street lights.

MTN’s support to Tamale SHS was in line with the company’s commitment towards supporting the development and promotion of quality education delivery at all levels across the country.

A board member of the MTN Ghana Foundation, Mrs Nabilla Williams, reiterated MTN’s commitment to enrich the lives of Ghanaians with improved educational facilities and materials.

“MTN Ghana recognises the important role education plays in the development of individuals, communities and nations” she stated.

She noted that education shaped attitudes and helped people realise their talent and potential. It was therefore important for the nation to create an enabling environment to help the youth develop their physical and mental abilities for the development of the country.

Assuring the people of Tamale of quality service delivery, Mrs Williams said “it is unfortunate that the numerous fibre cuts as a result of construction works across the country adversely affect our provision of quality service. We however remain resolute to our commitment and will ensure that network challenges in the region are mitigated”.

The chairman for the occasion, Dr Haruna, who is the President of the Old Students Association and immediate past Board Chairman of Tamale Secondary, was full of appreciation for MTN.

We have been working very hard to generate support to help improve conditions in the school and we are happy that finally, MTN has come to the aid of Tamale Secondary School” he said.
