Opportunity will cause stupidity....?

Corporate people often feel that only opportunity would favour the career success. Is the 'opportunity' really help one to become successful? Opportunity may give one a chance to explore and experiment but seldom guarantee or offer success. For success, one has to use the opportunity wisely and smartly and having mere opportunity in abundance will never reward.

This simple message every corporate employee must understand failing which they breed nothing but grief and complain. Nature can offer best examples to the corporate to prove how plenty of opportunity can go wrong if the opportunity is not used wisely and smartly.

During summer months, the herbivores suffer least predation. But, during winter/rainy months, the lion will have sumptuous food. The herbivores will have plenty of food to eat during rainy season. When opportunity (food) is plenty, most herbivores get lost in the opportunity and easily fall prey to a lion.

But during summer months where food is scarce, all herbivores will find it difficult to get either food or water to survive. Herbivores, when have no/least opportunity will be vigilant and watchful of any new opportunity.

Naturally the herbivores are more smart and intelligent when there is no or poor opportunity (food). That makes the life of predators very tough and difficult. This is the general thumb rule every life form in nature follow.

In any corporate setup in general, the opportunity is more for MBA graduates (MBA from premier institutions and not from any street schools). Career and job opportunity is more in sales and marketing departments. On the contrary, the scope for R&D personals and Ph.Ds are very break in most corporate. Although plenty of opportunity is available for marketing and sales personals, hence the commitment and contributions of these people are very fluctuating and inconsistent. Either they loose their job easily or may change their job frequently. Fight is more common among sales and marketing personals in general.

On the contrary, politics and cheating are generally common in R&D set up of most corporate. Opportunity is less for these people, hence they are very alert as how to safe guard their job. In the process, they may end up playing 'third rate politics' and gambling in the corporate ecosystem.

From the success point of view, sales or marketing professionals are not as successful as R&D personals in retaining the job in the same corporate. The sales and marketing professionals instead of engaging in playing politics would explore opportunity elsewhere. They may promote automobile spare parts one day and food products the very next day. But R&D personals engage in gambling and ensure their job in the corporate till superannuation.

If your are either a R&D or marketing or a sales personal, you need to learn from nature as having enough opportunity may offer nothing and only your smartness will pay you.
