Budujay 1 emerges winner of Airtel Friendzy

'BUDUJAY 1', one of the groups in the Airtel Friendzy, has emerged as the ultimate winners of Airtel Ghana, the fastest growing telecommunication network consumer promotion.

The group made up of 24 members, was presented with a GH¢50,000 cheque, as the group with the highest points.

Second was MERCI, another group, which won the prize of GH¢15,000 and ARK 1 also won third prize of GH¢10,000.

The promotion, which had been running for over three months has rewarded more than thousand individuals with GH¢400,000 cash prize, 320 Samsung tablets and Samsung Galaxy S II phones and 450,000 airtime.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Corporate Communications and External Affairs at Airtel Ghana, Donald Gwira stated that the promotion started in December 2011 and has been running for 10 weeks.

What we simply did was that we put together how much an individual or group top up with or used on Voice calls, internet and Value Added services like SMS or Caller Ring Back Tones and reward you as an individual or group.

One fascinating thing about this promotion is the excitement it has brought to participating groups. We toured the major cities in Ghana; Kumasi, Takoradi, Cape Coast and Accra, rewarding our customers and giving back to them. We made that promise at the beginning of the year and we are happy to have fulfilled it'.

The Senior Marketing Manager at Airtel Ghana, Kingsley Bennett, explained that this national incentive programme is our way of enhancing favourable relationships among Ghanaians while putting money back into the pockets of our customers.

'Most of us had various expectations for the new year and for us at Airtel, we are happy to see people smiling and staying together throughout this promotion', he added.

This promotion also aimed at celebrating friendship as participants were encouraged to play with their friends and win prizes that will be shared among participating group of friends.

He noted that the company was also rewarding customers with other offers; My Airtel My Offer, Magic Moments, WOW, Bonus for Airtel Money users are all still running. While congratulations to all winners, Mr Bennett also urged everyone to join the Airtel network which has a lot to offer to Ghanaians.
