NDC to win all zongo votes- Alhaji Amadu Sorogho

Accra, Mar. 3, GNA – Al haji Amadu B. Sorogho, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina Abokobi Constituency in the Greater Accra Region said, The NDC Zongo Caucus would win all votes belonging to the Zongo Communities in the country in election 2012. He said people in the Zongo communities were not only Muslims and Northerners as projected by Ghanaians, adding, and “Our zongos are fully occupied by Christians who are mostly Asantes, Ewes and other Christian's tribes.”

Alhaji Sorogho was addressing members of the NDC Zongo Caucus of the Madina Abokobi Constituency at its campaign launch on Saturday. He said people taught the zongo communities were behind progress and was been called all kind of names to tarnish the image of the zongos, “but the zongos produces all kind of professionals in the country.”

Alhaji Sorogho added that every political party was now soliciting support from the zongo people, forgetting that the NDC was the favorite party of the zongo people in the country. All zongo communities will continue to vote for the NDC and President Atta Mills to continue his good work and the Better Ghana Agenda set by him for the country, he said.

Alhaji Sorogho noted that the people of Madina Abokobi was in the heartfelt of President Mills, adding that Madina in less than one month will had its own Municipality to continue developmental projects in the Municipality. He said an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Center has been build in the constituency and collaborated with RLG, an ICT experts to trained people in ICT in the constituency, “more projects such boreholes and school buildings are coming in no time.”

He said the Government has served the zongo communities with all respect and dignity, adding that jobs were created for the youth in the country which the zongo youth was the most beneficiaries. Alhaji Sorogho called on the people to come out on Mrach 24th to register massively on the biometric registration and urged them to desist from politics of insults but rather campaign with facts.

Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the Zongo Caucus, Alhaji Ollabody Williams said the NDC have proof to the zongo people already with the amount of respect it gives them, and noted that whatever the other political parties do for the zongo people will be lesser than what the NDC was doing.

He said the NDC has created a lot of jobs for the youth in the country and will continue to promote the welfare of the citizens and asked Ghanaians to give the party another term to fulfill its Better Ghana Agenda. Alhaji Mohammed Ashika, Protocol Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) said, Government was in talks with partners and stakeholders to implement the onetime payment of the Scheme.

He said the pilot capitation that was implemented by the NHIA in the Ashanti Region should be embraced by all stakeholders to achieve a common goal and progress in the country. Alhaji Ashika also noted that many Ghanaians were in dire need of the onetime payment aimed to implement by the NHIA and called on the authorities to facilitate the implementation

He called on all Ghanaians to register with the NHIA to save unnecessary spending at our hospitals and urged everybody to vote for President Mil to continue his Better Ghana Agenda.
