Takoradi, Feb. 29, GNA – The Western Regional Branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) on Tuesday withdrew its recognition of the national executives of the union.
The decision is to compel the national executives to refund a total amount of 970,000 Ghana Cedis paid to them by members of the regional branch of the union for the purchase of various types of vehicles between 2008 and 2009.
At a regional executive council meeting at Takoradi, Mr Isaac Esau, Regional Chairman of the Union, said for almost fours years, the vehicles have not been delivered and the national executives have not refunded the money to the members.
